Data processing

How do we protect information?

All supplied personal data is held securely by Live Borders in house or hosted systems. All personal data is treated as confidential and will only be accessed by a third party acting on our behalf, adhering to our data processing requirements in terms of security and period(s) of retention. Third parties will only be asked to process our data for legitimate business purposes.

Personal data collected by Live Borders

Live Borders collects personal data which is required to fulfil our business functions relating to your booking, membership and inclusion on our mailing list(s) or in relation to specific business functions. Personal data is held only as long as necessary, and is kept to a minimum to meet business requirements.

Personal Data held may include some or all of the following: your name, address, email address, telephone number, bank account details, age/ date of birth, gender, image(s) and in some circumstances health conditions. This information is required to make possible the fair processing of your data to manage, for example your membership.

Why we process your personal data

Live Borders processes your personal data for the following purposes:
1) Processing your application for one of our membership schemes
2) Allowing you to book space in any of our classes, buildings activities or programmes
3) Enabling you to give feedback about services
4) Allowing you to opt into one or more of our mailing lists

We may also use your personal data to detect fraud and/or other illegal acts aimed at Live Borders. For example unlawful use of the public access computers in libraries.

Transfer to third parties

In accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 Live Borders will not transfer your data to any third party.

Data processors

From time to time, we may use third party service providers as data processors for example, we use a finance company to manage Direct Debits on our behalf. Processing by third parties takes place under our instruction. These parties are bound by data processing agreements and confidentiality agreements

Security

In accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018, strict security procedures are observed within Live Borders to prevent personal data misuse, loss and/ or unauthorised access.

Control over your personal data

Live Borders is the data controller for the processing your personal data.
You have the right to review the personal data you have stored with us.
You have the right to request the correction of your personal data.
You have the right to request the removal of your personal data, where it is not required for business purposes – ie to fulfil a Direct Debit or other financial obligation.
