Jim Clark Motorsport Museum Family Day a huge success
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum in Duns, Live Borders opened the attraction for a special Family Fun Day which was a roaring success, attracting 345 visitors in one day – the highest number of visitors ever achieved.
An exciting mix of activities including the brand new race-car simulator, the chance to build your dream car in the Lego area, a tyre changing challenge, and Scalextric racing helped create a fantastic day out for fans of all ages, as well as the opportunity to take in the story of the legend of Jim Clark, and see his racing cars up close.
Kenny Mclean, Learning & Engagement Officer at the attraction said: “The Family Fun Day was a great success and we welcomed more visitors in one day than ever before. We were very pleased to welcome visitors from the local area, across the Borders and Lothians, and some international visitors; it is testament to the appeal of the legendary Jim Clark and the quality of attraction we can offer visitors. We look forward to building on this success and welcome more visitors over the next weeks.”
As well as the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum, Live Borders operates a range of exciting museums, galleries and archives across the Borders including the Great Tapestry of Scotland, Jedburgh Castle Jail and Hawick Museum. A variety of exhibitions are scheduled across the region with pictures and pieces of art on display, and for sale. Culture and art lovers will find a great day out, with all details on the Live Borders website.
